Just before the MLB Speedway Classic was suspended until Sunday afternoon, Fox Sports' Kevin Burkhardt echoed sentiments of fans on social media.
Many fans at Tennessee's Bristol Motor Speedway tweeted as rain delayed the 2025 MLB Speedway Classic tweeted about long lines at the venue, and suggested that many food items were unavailable at concession stands with the huge crowd on hand.
Fox Sports' Kevin Burkhardt didn't provide details, but said during the broadcast, just before the game was suspended until Sunday afternoon, that "we're out of food, so it's really panic time."
Before the deluge, the Reds were expecting to have their first scheduled day off on a Sunday since the 1930s. Instead, they'll resume their series finale against the Braves with a 1-0 lead in the 1st inning.
Some of the earlier social media reactions about food and merchandise availability:
Major league fail @MLB@Braves@Reds. The Bristol game was the MLB version of Fyre fest. Awful logistics, no food except except bunless hotdogs and cheeseless nachos, multiple shuttles to even get in the stadium & completely unprepared for rain. #filedofnightmares#speedwaytragicpic.twitter.com/bc6gkNPixp

Talking to my son on the phone who is at the game. They're underneath the seats waiting it out for now. They're cold & wet. He told us earlier how they ran out of merch & food, which sucked. He said everyone is soaked.

It’s been tough. They ran out of hot dog buns pretty early. They were serving them on a pile of chips. 2 hour line for merchandise. Fan zone was really nothing but lines

Fan Zone was 3 pounds of crap in a 1 pound bag! No room for 85,000 people. Very bad!

No food at Bristol and the game hasn’t even started! The 2025 Braves season in a nutshell! 🤣

I was in Bristol tonight and I can’t tell you how pathetic the entire thing was. We waited an hour and a half in the concessions line only for them to run out of most of the food before the game started. #MLBSpeedwayClassic

@mlb thought none of this through in Bristol. They should be ashamed. EVERY PERSON should get their money back. Even if the weather would have been good , @ItsBristolBaby was wildly unprepared for demand of food and beverage. Just an absolute disaster.

On top of the weather and game suspended apparently they ran out of food in Bristol too?

Yeah I think that may be a wrap for a baseball game ever at a NASCAR track.
