Marlins' Jakob Marsee is 1st player in MLB history to start career with this power-walk stats combo

This is quite the history.

Jakob Marsee is the 23,549th player in Major League Baseball history.

No player has ever started their career quite like the Miami Marlins' rookie.

Through three games, Marsee has four extra-base hits and four walks. That's the first time that has ever happened, per Marlins PR.

Ironically, that's not exactly the mojo for Marsee, who led the minors with 47 steals before his call-up (although he did have 14 homers, too).

In his MLB debut Friday against the Yankees, he wakled three times and hit a double.

On Saturday, he walked once and hit another double.

And on Sunday, he doubled and tripled while getting his first MLB RBI.

Through three games, that's 4-for-8 with a .667 on-base percentage, 1.125 slugging and a 1.792 OPS.

Yes, small sample size to the extreme.

But still, quite the start for the 24-year old.

Marsee was originally a sixth-round pick out of Central Michigan by the Padres in 2022.

The Marlins got Marsee in the Luis Arraez trade after winning the 2023 Arizona Fall League MVP.

He struggled in 2024 around the trade, but he has been much better this time around.

And now, Marsee has done something no MLB player has ever done before.

If you were drawing up the start to a career, it'd look something like this.
