The Oklahoma City Thunder have had a quiet offseason compared to many teams around the NBA, which was to be expected.

Of course, the Thunder are coming off a historic season that they were able to cap off with a championship, their first since relocating to Oklahoma City.

They then entered the offseason not needing to make many changes to their roster as their entire core from last season is signed for next season.

Despite this, the Thunder did add Thomas Sorber and Brooks Barnhizer in the 2025 draft but they have elected to not make any additions to their roster outside of those two.

Oklahoma City also locked in their star trio of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams this offseason by signing them all to max extensions.

With these moves, Bleacher Report’s Dan Favale placed the Thunder on his recent list of the top five teams who have “quietly crushed” the 2025 NBA offseason.

“There is no shortage of attention being paid to the Oklahoma City Thunder. But that spotlight is more about them winning the championship and signing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to a supermax extension. This team's offseason includes more victories than just the routine Ws,” Favale wrote. “Sure, Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams were always going to sign extensions. But the Thunder locked them up for five years without either getting a player option and with limited escalator language on the latter's deal. A few months from now, we might just be muttering, half-exasperatedly, half-incredulously, ‘The Thunder really did it again.’”

Favale makes a great point about the other wins the Thunder have had this offseason outside of signing Shai, Holmgren and Williams to max extensions.

Of course, the Thunder also signed Ajay Mitchell and Jaylin Willims to new contracts on very team-friendly deals and their additions of Sorber and Barnhizer could come up huge next season and into the future.

Because of this, Favale believes that the Thunder crushed this offseason despite only being talked about due to their championship last season and not with the moves they have made this summer, which will likely make them into a title contender for many years to come.
