A key member of the Philadelphia Eagles offense went down with a potentially serious injury on Sunday.

Training camp and the preseason are a necessary evil in the NFL, and unfortunately, it’s also the time of the year when several high-profile players go down with injuries.
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir, and Houston Texans running back Joe Mixon are just a few of the top players who’ve missed significant time during their teams’ respective camps due to medical reasons.
The defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles were the latest team to see a key starter go down with a worrying injury after they lost guard Landon Dickerson, one of quarterback Jalen Hurts' top blockers, during a team practice on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.
“Eagles three-time Pro-Bowl guard Landon Dickerson was carted off the practice field Sunday night with a leg injury, unable to put any weight on it,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.
Dickerson, the second-highest paid guard in the NFL, laid on the ground for several minutes writhing in pain before being helped to the sideline by the Eagles’ training staff.
Multiple reports indicated that the 26-year-old lineman, who’s suffered knee and ankle injuries both in college and the NFL, couldn’t put weight on his right knee but he could bend it, and he had to be taken by cart to the locker room for further evaluation.

If Dickerson misses any significant amount of time, Brett Toth and Kenyon Green, a first-round pick of the Houston Texans in 2022 who was traded to Philly this offseason for safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson, will likely battle to replace him.
While the Eagles haven’t given any update on Dickerson’s condition, noted sports medicine doctor Jesse Morse, who’s the CEO of Injury Expertz, weighed in on the situation on social media.
“Potentially significant (knee) injury for Eagles Landon Dickerson,” he wrote on X. “He was reportedly already dealing with a knee injury. Let’s hope it not serious.”
Dickerson has started 62 games for the Eagles over his four NFL seasons, which included three Pro Bowl selections and one Super Bowl championship.
