Andy Reid Knows Tough Decisions Need to be Made originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Andy Reid has been a head coach in the National Football League since 1999. After a long run with the Philadelphia Eagles, he took over as head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013.
Over his career, Reid has faced plenty of tough decisions. The three-time Super Bowl champion is used to them, but as the 2025 training camp continues, the 67-year-old knows another difficult choice is coming before the season kicks off. When asked about his receiver group, Reid said:
"We'll have a tough decision to make. [GM] Brett [Veach] and the coaches. We've got good players there. I'm pleased with what we have. Some of the young guys and how they're producing."
Chiefs HC Andy Reid says of wide receivers: "We'll have a tough decision to make. Brett and the coaches. We've got good players there. . . I'm pleased with what we have there. Some of the young guys and how they're producing."

Kansas City Chiefs Depth Chart
The Chiefs have given Patrick Mahomes several strong targets at wide receiver. Currently, the depth chart lists Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy and Hollywood Brown as the starters. Rice recently returned to practice following an injury. Behind them, the first three off the bench are:
- JuJu Smith-Schuster
- Jalen Royals
- Skyy Moore
Kansas City also has Tyquan Thornton, Nikko Remigio and Jason Brownlee competing for spots.
Chiefs Preseason Results
In Kansas City's first preseason game, Patrick Mahomes played just 48 seconds, throwing a touchdown pass before his day ended. Brownlee was the receiver who caught it, giving Kansas City a 7-0 lead.
After Mahomes exited, Bailey Zappe, Gardner Minshew and Chris Oladokun split the rest of the snaps, combining to go 20-for-40 with 156 yards and two interceptions. The Chiefs lost 20-17 to the Arizona Cardinals.
While it’s hard to judge without Mahomes, Remigio caught two passes, Royals caught three and Brownlee hauled in the lone touchdown. The three projected starters did not play.
Kansas City Chiefs Coaching Staff
