NFL legend and Colorado Buffaloes football coach Deion Sanders held a press conference on Monday in which he revealed he won a battle with cancer.

Sanders, who appeared with his doctor, said a tumor on his bladder was found, but he has since had surgery to remove the bladder and is cancer-free, according to ESPN's Jeff Legwold.

"You have no idea how good God has been to me," Sanders said, before urging others to get checked out to avoid what he went through.

The Pro Football Hall of Famer also noted that he did not tell two of his sons, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders, that he was dealing with the health scare. That's because he wanted them to continue to focus on their careers.

"I just told them it's something with my foot," Sanders said.

Of course, Shedeur Sanders was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft in April. Sanders saw one of the most legendary draft falls in the history of the league after experts widely considered him a first-round pick.

Shedeur Sanders is in a four-way competition for the Browns' starting job with Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel.

Meanwhile, Shilo Sanders did not get drafted, but he did sign an undrafted free-agent deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and is in training camp with the team.

Deion Sanders that he will return to his head-coaching gig at Colorado, where both of his sons played under him the last two years. Sanders said he other son, Deion Sanders Jr., has been by his side throughout the health scare.

Under Sanders, Colorado has posted a 13-12 record, including a 9-4 mark in 2024.
