After playing three seasons with the team that drafted him in 2022, Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson agreed to sign a four-year contract extension.

ESPN reported on Sunday that the extension is worth $52 million, including a $12 million signing bonus and $30 million in guaranteed money. Ferguson, 26, was set to enter the final year of his rookie contract, but now is under contract until 2029.

He had his breakout year in 2023, recording 71 receptions for 761 yards and five touchdowns. That year, he replaced San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle in the Pro Bowl.

Last season, he recorded 59 receptions for 494 yards but didn’t score any touchdowns. The Cowboys roster was riddled with injuries, and the team finished the season at 7-10.

Ferguson’s contract extension earned a reaction from his teammate and Pro Bowl wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. “Fergyyy,” Lamb posted on his Instagram story.

Lamb, 26, signed a four-year $136 million contract extension last summer to become the second-highest paid non-quarterback in the NFL, at the time. His deal includes $100 million in guaranteed money and a $38 million signing bonus.

Lamb recorded 101 receptions for 1,194 yards and six touchdowns last season to make his fourth Pro Bowl. In 2023, he caught 135 passes for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns as the Cowboys' No. 1 wide receiver.

Lamb is expected to have another strong season because he will be paired with George Pickens, whom Dallas acquired from the Pittsburgh Steelers in a trade on May 7 for a 2026 third-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick. The Cowboys also received a 2027 sixth-round pick in the deal.
