It's pretty well-known at this point what Terry McLaurin wants in a contract from the Washington Commanders.

It's just a question of whether the Commanders will give McLaurin the extension he wants, or not.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport joined The Pat McAfee Show on Monday to share the latest.

"Terry McLaurin wants $33 million (per year) like DK Metcalf," Rapoport said. "He's a little older, but same (draft) class, similar production."

Rapoport went on to share what he thinks Washington is willing to pay to its star wide receiver.

"My sense is it's around or a little under $30 million (per year)," Rapoport said. "If McLaurin wants $33 million, and the Commanders want to pay him $28.5 million, there's a deal to be made... Let's say $29 million and above, that's a good deal."

Rapoport went on:

"They both have arguments. But I think they are trying to do it, and I think they're also in that all-in mode."

McLaurin has led Washington's receiver room essentially since he stepped in the NFL out of Ohio State.

Until 2024, that meant making due with some brutal quarterbacks.

But then last season, Jayden Daniels arrived as the No. 2 overall pick out of LSU, and he was an immediate star.

McLaurin started the season slow and closed it on fire. Clearly, the Commanders benefit from having McLaurin on the field for Daniels to throw to.

And based on these latest comments, a deal is there to be made. It might be time to reach a final, signature-seizing compromise.
