Brittney Griner Has Strong Words About Atlanta Dream on Thursday originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Atlanta Dream are the hottest team in the WNBA right now, having won six straight games and eight of their last 10. They even took down the league-best Minnesota Lynx, as they climbed to the No. 2 seed in the standings.
Griner, who is averaging 10.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and a team-best 1.1 blocks per game, is certainly proud of what the team has accomplished so far. That much is clear in her latest post on Thursday, a day after the Dream beat the Seattle Storm.
"We all we got!!" Griner wrote on Threads, along with a photo of her helping Rhyne Howard stand up — highlighting the team's chemistry and camaraderie that have propelled them to success this 2025.
Griner and the Dream Stay Hot
Griner has every reason to be hyped about the team and their growing bond as a group. After all, they are well poised to finish as a top-three team after ending last season as the No. 8 seed with a 15-25 record.
The Dream are also on track to record their first winning season since 2018 when they tallied a 23-11 record. That's also the highest number of wins the franchise has recorded since joining the WNBA in 2008. Now, Griner and Co. are on their way to setting a new mark.
Here's how the Dream have performed in the last six seasons:
- 2019: 8-26; 12th, Missed the playoffs
- 2020: 7-15; 10th, Missed the playoffs
- 2021: 8-24; 11th, Missed the playoffs
- 2022: 14-22; 10th, Missed the playoffs
- 2023: 19-21; 5th, Made the playoffs
- 2024: 15-25, 8th, Made the playoffs
What Are Griner and the Dream's Chances of Winning the WNBA Title?
Considering the Dream's rise, they currently have one of the best odds to win the WNBA title.
They have a 99.9% chance to make the playoffs, a 69.2% chance to reach the semifinals and a 29.9% chance to make the finals, according to ESPN's Basketball Power Index. The Dream also have a 10.5% chance of winning it all, the third-best odds behind the Lynx and New York Liberty.
It remains to be seen if the Dream can live up to expectations come playoff time, but as Griner highlighted in her post, she and the rest of the team believe in each other.
