After a season-ending knee injury cost him the last seven games of the 2023 season, Allan Haye was back on the field last fall.

Well, sort of.

Haye played in 10 of Temple’s 12 games last season at defensive tackle, including the season opener at Oklahoma, but he never felt quite right and registered just nine total tackles, including two solo stops.

“At one point, I was probably practicing, like, two times a week just to make it to Saturdays,” Haye admitted.

Not anymore.

Haye, a 6-foot-2, 310-pound senior who transferred to Temple from Miami prior to the 2023 season, has been a full practice participant through spring ball and now into preseason camp, and he told reporters Monday that he’s feeling a lot better.

“Now, it’s different,” Haye said. “I don’t feel no pain. I’ve got all my range of motion. I’m flying around. I can run to the ball. I can get off blocks. I can explode. It’s a big difference from last year to this year.”

All of that is good news for new Temple head coach K.C. Keeler and his defensive coordinator, Brian L. Smith, both of whom have been pleased with the performance and depth along the defensive line, one that includes Haye’s interior line teammates in Demerick Morris, UMass transfer Aaron Beckwith and Sekou Kromah
