Angel Reese Posts Cryptic Photo After Sky's Blowout Loss to Fever

Does this mean anything?

Angel Reese sat out for a fifth straight game on Saturday as the Chicago Sky suffered a 92-70 blowout loss at the hands of their biggest rivals, the Indiana Fever.

Reese has been dealing with a nagging back injury that has forced her to miss multiple games, and the 23-year-old was not even with the team in Saturday’s game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Without Reese in the picture again, the Sky struggled to keep up with a Fever side that was also going through its own injury crisis. Caitlin Clark remained out for a 10th straight contest due to a lingering groin injury, while guards Aari McDonald and Sydney Colson were both diagnosed with season-ending injuries on Friday.

Reese, however, was active on social media roughly an hour after Chicago’s tough loss. The former LSU star posted what appears to be a cryptic photo on her Instagram stories.

Reese is usually expressive with her posts, so it’s probably worth noting that she did not have any caption in her latest photo.

It is unclear if the post has anything to do with the game. It’s possible that Reese was merely sharing her admiration for the full moon. Then again, it could also mean something else entirely.

Earlier this season, the WNBA investigated allegations of racist remarks made by Fever fans toward Reese during their season-opener at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on May 17. The league, however, was unable to substantiate the claims after gathering information from fans, team and arena staff, as well as video and audio review from the game.

As for her basketball, Reese still has no timetable for her return from injury. Head coach Tyler Marsh said that she’s focused on her rehab right now, which is why she did not attend the game in Indianapolis.

The Sky are back in action on Wednesday against the league-worst Connecticut Sun, but it remains to be seen if Reese will be healthy enough to suit up for that one.
