The Indiana Fever couldn't help but show off their All-Star forward Aliyah Boston, who continues to grow her game every season.

This 2025, Boston has shown tremendous growth as a playmaker, especially amid the absence of their assist leader in Caitlin Clark. The 23-year-old big is averaging a career-high 3.8 assists per game.

More recently, the former South Carolina Gamecocks standout even made history as the fastest center to reach 100 assists in a season. Boston achieved the feat with six dimes against the Chicago Sky on July 27.

Boston Proving To Be a 'Playmaking Machine'

On Tuesday, Boston was named the WNBA Player of the Week after averaging 16.7 points and 11.7 rebounds through games played between July 26 and August 3.

As the Fever celebrated her accomplishment, they also posted a highlight reel of her playmaking so far this season. In the clip, one of the broadcasters can be heard saying, "She is the best passing big in the league."

The Fever highlighted the statement and sent a proud message about Boston.

"@aliyah.boston is a playmaking machine," the team wrote in the caption of the post.

Aliyah Boston Key for the Fever to Gain Playoff Success

Despite the absence of Clark, the Fever have thrived and have won five straight games, thanks in large part to Boston. In that span, the three-time All-Star has put up the following averages:

  • 15.4 points on 48.3% shooting
  • 11.2 rebounds
  • 3.4 assists
  • 2.0 steals

As a result of their winning streak, the Fever have put themselves in a good position to make the playoffs. According to ESPN's Basketball Power Index, Indiana now has a 99.2% chance of clinching a postseason spot.

If the Fever make the playoffs, there's no denying that Boston will play a crucial role. Her playmaking, in particular, should help lessen the burden on Clark when she returns and open up more scoring opportunities for the sharpshooting guard.
