Hockey and basketball might still take the top billing in Minnesota for high school sports, but the state is quickly finding itself as one that can produce top football players as well.

The state of Minnesota previously was really only looked at for elite hockey prospects and high-level basketball players from the prep ranks. But the football scene is quickly growing into one that can help a major program contend on a national level.
This coming fall, several elite quarterback prospects will hit the gridiron in the Land of 10,000 Lakes looking to lead their respective teams to the state championship.

Here are some of the top Minnesota high school football quarterback prospects for 2025:
Mason West, Edina
West, who was selected in the NHL Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks, has made it known he plans to play this fall for his high school football team. As a junior, West threw for almost 2,600 yards with 37 touchdowns and just four interceptions, completing 73 percent of his passes.
Jett Feeney, Moorhead
As a sophomore, Feeney ranked second in the state in yards and completions, racking up 3,221 on 208. He also threw 48 touchdowns with just six interceptions.
Parker Kuehn, Springfield
Another Class of 2027 prospect, Kuehn is coming off a season in which he completed 66 percent of his throws for 2,408 yards with 32 touchdown passes.
Nathan Ramler, Chanhassen
Ramler recorded 23 passing scores with 2,373 yards on 61 percent completions as a junior last fall. That included a 21-for-23 game with 262 yards in the air and four touchdown strikes.
Logan Lachermeier, Minneapolis North
The senior-to-be this fall ranked among the state leaders in yards with 2,494, throwing 29 touchdowns. He had 352- and 306-yard performances in late games last season.
Bridon Bahl, Fillmore Central
Another younger, Bahl recently completed his sophomore season of high school, which included throwing for over 2,100 yards and 24 touchdowns, highlighted by a 311-yard, four-TD performance in a wi over Blooming Prairie, 46-39.
Vincent Wellik, Stewartville
Wellik was a touchdown machine, throwing 36 TD passes among his 138 completions, which went for over 2,100 yards. He had just five interceptions on the season.
Gunner Liebl, Dawson-Boyd
Liebl, who will be a senior, is a dual-threat, throwing for 1,944 yards while rushing for almost 600 in 10 games. He also had 20 passing scores and 11 more with his legs.
