Dion Lopy blocked by Almería

Arriving in 2023, Dion Lopy is unlikely to leave UD Almería any time soon. The club, currently competing in Spain's second division, is determined to hold on to its Senegalese defensive midfielder despite mounting interest from elsewhere.
According to information from transfer market specialist Fabrizio Romano, the Senegal international (five caps) has attracted interest from OGC Nice and a Premier League club.
However, just as they did when Real Betis showed interest earlier this summer, Almería’s management have turned down both offers.
The Andalusian club is counting on the services of their 23-year-old midfielder to spearhead their push for promotion at the end of the 2025-2026 campaign, after narrowly missing out last season by finishing sixth in the Liga Adelante, just six points off the podium.
The former Stade de Reims midfielder featured in 41 matches across all competitions in 2024-2025, netting once and providing three assists.
I like him to be honest, wanted him from Leicester a few years ago, he’s an 8 for me, more tenacious than an out and out number 10. Great eye for a pass and good touch. I still think we sign a deep lying midfielder (Dion Lopy?) and another attacking one as well as Dibling.
