Lions CB Ennis Rakestraw Jr. was injured during Saturday’s practice during Detroit’s training camp, according to multiple reports. Rakestraw injured his shoulder, and head coach Dan Campbell said that “it’s going to be a while,” before he’s back on the field, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

“We’re getting it checked now and we’ll know more,” Campbell said. “In due time.”

Rakestraw was the Lions’ 2024 second-round draft pick from Missouri. During his rookie season in 2024, Rakestreaw appeared in eight games where he logged six tackles.

In a corresponding move, the Lions picked up CB Luq Barcoo. Barcoo saw regular season for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2020, logging 10 total tackles during three appearances. He was most recently signed to the Dallas Cowboys practice squad.
