The Pittsburgh Steelers trading for Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons is a pipe dream, and for multiple reasons.

Not even Jerry Jones is dumb enough to deal Parsons, who requested to be traded recently. Furthermore, even if he's put on the trade block, the Steelers would have tons of competition for his services, which would make a blockbuster deal for Parsons, who would be highly coveted, extremely difficult to pull off.

But we can still dream and Steelers Wire's Andrew Vasquez is dreaming of a trade that would see the Steelers give up three draft picks and Alex Highsmith for the Cowboys superstar.

  • Steelers get: Micah Parsons
  • Cowboys get: Alex Highsmith, two 2nd-round picks (2026, 2027), 7th-round pick (2027)

"The price to pay is undoubtedly steep — but there's no question the Steelers would boast an even more devastating pass rush with All-Pro DT Cameron Heyward on the interior and the edge rush duo of Parsons and former 2021 Defensive Player of the Year T.J. Watt," Vasquez wrote.

Vasquez has the right idea with adding Highsmith, as the Cowboys will certainly be looking for an edge rusher if they have to trade Parsons. However, the lack of a first-round pick is glaring.

Parsons is one of the very best players in the NFL, regardless of position, and he's just 26 years old, so he's going to command at least one first-round pick, even with his contract situation.

There are some out there who even believe he could cost two first-rounders, which is plausible, especially if a bidding war takes place between several teams, something that is likely to happen.

Should the Steelers make a play for Parsons if he becomes available? Yes, but so should just about every team in the NFL.

Never say never, but we fully expect Parsons and the Cowboys to get something done that keeps him in Dallas for the long haul.
