The Denver Broncos agreed to a new contract extension with defensive lineman Zach Allen on Saturday morning as the rising star was entering the final year of his current contract. Allen's new deal is a four-year, $102 million contract extension, making him the third-highest-paid player at his position in the NFL.
Allen's new deal has $39.5 million of guaranteed money and keeps him in Denver through 2029. The Broncos' pass rusher was making $15.25 million per year on his current contract, and will get more than a $10 million annual raise, now making $25.5 million per year.
Another deal in Denver: Broncos are signing All-Pro DL Zach Allen to a four-year, $102 million deal that includes $69.5 million guaranteed, per ESPN sources.

With the extension, Kansas City Chiefs' defensive lineman Chris Jones and New England Patriots' defensive lineman Milton Williams are the only two players making more than Allen at his position. Jones is making $31.75 million per year, and Williams is earning $26 million per year.
Allen's extension comes after a career year in a breakout 2024 season. The Broncos' defensive lineman recorded 40 quarterback hits and 8.5 sacks, while leading all defensive tackles in the NFL with 67 quarterback pressures. He accumulated 61 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and defended a pass.
Allen started his career with the Arizona Cardinals after being drafted in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He played four years with the Cardinals under defensive coordinator Vance Joseph and finished his final season with 5.5 sacks, 10 TFLs, and 20 quarterback hits.
In 2023, both Joseph and Allen came to the Broncos. Joseph became the new defensive coordinator in Denver, and Allen signed his free agent contract with the Broncos. Now, two years later, the rising star has broken out and become one of the highest-paid players at his position in the NFL.
Allen's extension comes days after the Broncos extended star receiver Courtland Sutton. After spending the first seven years of his career in Denver, Sutton's rookie extension was set to expire at the end of 2025. Earlier this week, the Broncos signed a new four-year, $92 million contract with the star receiver after he put up his second 1,000-yard season of his career in 2024.
After their first playoff appearance since 2016 last season, the Denver Broncos have brought in more talented players and secured existing talent for the future this offseason. The Broncos have high expectations for 2025 and beyond, and building that sustainable success has started with securing their star players long-term.
