Trae Young Sends a Message Amid Parsons' Trade Request

Many NFL fans and analysts were surprised by how the contract negotiations between the Cowboys and Parsons turned out. Amid this, Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young sent out a message about prioritizing the star athlete.

"This why you pay the man early, when someone will take less early to stay in a place he wanted to be forever, you do it… the price only goes up now!" Young replied on Parsons' post. "Get what you deserve bro!"

Growing up, Parsons was a huge Cowboys fan, and he had always dreamed of playing for the Dallas team. Regretfully, it appears that his tenure with the team is over.

Trae Young Could Face a Similar Situation With the Hawks

Like Parsons, Young could be due for a contract extension after the 2026-27 season, the final year of his five-year, $215 million. It's a player option that he can choose to opt out of, depending on how his contract talks play out.

According to reports, he's eligible to sign a four-year, $228.6 million max extension. If an offer isn't made before the start of the said season, he will become a free agent in 2026. However, Young has deflected any discussions regarding his looming contract extension.

His future with the team relies on how the Hawks see their future with him.
