Lakers' Luka Doncic Has Eyes on the Prize, Amid Body Transformation: Report originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic is determined to change the narrative about him, focusing on his conditioning this summer with an eye on winning in the 2025–26 NBA season.

The Lakers potentially could have a new face in Doncic. The Solvenian point guard is regarded as a generational talent, much like LeBron James. This is the reason why the Lakers have been busy building a competitive team around him this summer.

The Lakers aren't the only ones doing their part. Doncic has also focused on improving his body, getting the right nutrition, and making sure he's conditioned.

Doncic's Priority is to Win an NBA Championship

Doncic had an exclusive interview with People magazine's Anna Lazarus Caplan on Friday. During his talk, he downplayed the blockbuster trade from the Dallas Mavericks as the reason for his body transformation. According to him, winning a championship was his bigger focus in the offseason.

“I mean, it's been every summer, you know, but I think just this summer I had a lot more time to try some new things—new nutrition, new food, different practices,” Doncic said about his desire to change his lifestyle.

“I would say winning the championship is my priority,” he added. “You know, you try to do it every year; I didn't do it yet. Hopefully in the future I will... So I mean, that was honestly my motivation.”

Many believe that the criticism he received from the Mavericks organization was why he chose to live healthier. The Dallas front office cited his conditioning as one of the reasons they let him go after he was dealt to Los Angeles.

With the potential to win a championship with the Lakers, he has seized the moment to make the most of it.
