Dallas Cowboys superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons officially requested a trade on Friday.
After a drama-filled offseason and no new contract, the former Penn State star posted on X saying, "Unfortunately, I no longer want to be here."
That decision from Parsons has sparked plenty of reactions from across the NFL world, including from teammate CeeDee Lamb.
The Cowboys not paying Parsons is one thing, and now the Pro Bowl edge rusher requesting a trade is another blow to the franchise.
After a flurry of reactions, one former Cowboys quarterback weighed in on the mishandling by the organization.
Ex-Cowboys QB Ben DiNucci in Disbelief After Micah Parsons Drama
There's a lot to unpack in this situation, including Parsons' writing in his post that there were "close door negotiations without my agent present."
Comments from Cowboys owner Jerry Jones also raised plenty of eyebrows: “Just because we sign him doesn’t mean we’re gonna have him,” Jones said. He was hurt six games last year. Seriously.”
Alas, Ben DiNucci was also surprised at the recent turn of events.
"LOL. How do you not pay Micah Parsons ????" DiNucci wrote on X.
DiNucci responded to several replies in his thread, including one person who said Parsons was "out of shape."
"Nahhhhhhhhh lol Micah was the fastest dude on the team every year I was there and he weighed 250 pounds," DiNucci said.
DiNucci and Parsons were teammates with the Cowboys in 2020 and 2021.
Still, not finding a way to pay Parsons what he's worth has left the former QB stunned.
What Are Others Saying About the Cowboys' Mishaps?
The team not finding a way to pay Parsons and, in turn, his trade request, has sparked plenty of buzz around the league.
According to NFL reporter Jordan Schultz, he said it is "embarrassing" and "executives are laughing at this."
Schultz also posted on X that the team "operated with pure arrogance, foolishness and stubbornness."
Robert Griffin III also weighed in, asking teams to "pay their best players."
At the end of the day, it is not a good look for the Cowboys, and it will be interesting to see what the Cowboys end up doing and where Parsons plays once September rolls around.
