The Sacramento Kings have been predicted to land a $100 million guard from the Boston Celtics in a three-team trade this offseason that includes DeMar DeRozan.

The Sacramento Kings entered the offseason looking to upgrade their roster around their core of Domantas Sabonis, DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine to chase a playoff spot in the Western Conference next season.

Of course, the Kings missed the playoffs last season after they were eliminated in the Play-In Tournament and they have made the playoffs just once since the start of the 2006-07 season.

It has been a struggle for the Kings for many years now but they are hoping to change things next season with their additions of Dennis Schroder, Nique Clifford and Maxime Raynaud this summer.

While the Kings are looking to make it back to the playoffs next season, Sports Illustrated’s Jackson Caudell and Rohan Raman recently released a mock trade that has them trading DeMar DeRozan to the Boston Celtics for a young guard.

In the trade, the Kings would acquire Anfernee Simons and an unprotected 2027 first-round pick from the Celtics for DeRozan and Keon Ellis.

Sacramento would also land Georges Niang from the Atlanta Hawks for Terence Davis while Boston would send Sam Hauser to the Hawks for three second-round picks.

This is an interesting trade for every team involved, especially the Kings and Celtics as they would be swapping one of their key players.

Of course, Boston acquired Simons earlier this offseason when they traded Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers so they may not want to move on from him just yet.

Despite this, the Celtics are still in position to compete in the Eastern Conference next season despite making major roster changes and Jayson Tatum set to miss the season due to a torn Achilles and DeRozan could be a solid addition to their roster.

For the Kings, Simons would fill a glaring need for them at the point guard position as he would likely replace Schroder as their starting point guard entering next season.

While that may be the case, the Celtics may not want to swap one of their young players for an aging DeRozan, especially with them trying to retool their roster this offseason.
