The Phoenix Suns have made massive changes to their roster thus far this summer and they may not be done making deals ahead of the start of next season.

Of course, the Suns officially ended their big three of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal as they sent Durant to the Houston Rockets and bought out Beal which allowed him to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Now Phoenix is looking to retool their roster around Booker and they have already made a ton of additions this offseason but a recent report suggests they may be unable to land a player they have shown in interest in over the past year.

According to ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel, the Suns do not have a clear path to acquire Jonathan Kuminga from the Golden State Warriors this offseason despite having interest in landing him.

“Few teams have expressed interest in Kuminga given his salary demands, and one of the organizations with interest doesn't have a clear path to acquiring him. That would be the Phoenix Suns, a franchise that worked endlessly this offseason to clear long-term money off their books and would need to move significant salary to bring in Kuminga,” Siegel wrote. “The Suns do hold a level of interest in Kuminga, something that has been known since the trade deadline, when negotiations surrounding Durant were taking place between the two teams. But to add Kuminga via a sign-and-trade this offseason, the Suns would need to remain under the first apron by trading Grayson Allen or a package involving veteran Royce O'Neale.”

Siegel also reported that the Suns did make an offer to the Warriors that included Allen and O’Neale in a trade package but Golden State shot it down as they do not want to take on their contracts.

This is a massive report by Siegel and one that does not bode well for the Suns as they try to add another young player to their roster.

Despite this, the Warriors may eventually become desperate enough to consider Phoenix’s offer for Kuminga if they are unable to find another team willing to trade for him before the start of next season.
