A pair of former Vols were at the center of a trade in Major League Baseball on Wednesday. The MLB trade deadline is scheduled for Thursday at 6 p.m. EDT.
The Mets traded former Tennessee pitcher Blade Tidwell and former Vol outfielder Drew Gilbert to San Francisco in exchange for relief pitcher Tyler Rogers.
Tidwell and Gilbert join former Vols Gavin Kilen and Maui Ahuna in the Giants' organization.
Following Wednesday's trade, San Francisco joins the Twins and Angels with the most former Vols in one organization with four each.
MLB.com updated its prospect rankings for the Giants after their trade was announced. Below is a look at where Tidwell and Gilbert are ranked as prospects for San Francisco.
Blade Tidwell
Tidwell (13-5) played for the Vols from 2021-22, appearing in 31 games (27 starts). He recorded 141 strikeouts and a 3.53 ERA, while leading all Tennessee pitchers with 18 starts as a true freshman in 2021.

Expected debut: 2025
Drew Gilbert
Gilbert played at Tennessee from 2020-22. He appeared in 141 games, including 134 starts, as a hitter. Gilbert (2-0) also appeared in 11 contests as a relief pitcher. He recorded a .314 batting average, 22 home runs, 140 RBIs and 116 runs with the Vols.
