Since trading Jordan Poole to the Washington Wizards in 2023, the team has failed to find a suitable replacement for Poole. Despite all the turmoil that led up to the Poole trade, he averaged over 20 points per game in his last season with the team.

Poole wasn't the most efficient shooter, but he could score, and he played an undeniable role in helping the Warriors secure their fourth championship in the Stephen Curry era and their seventh in franchise history. Golden State hasn't really had a scorer like him coming off the bench since then.

One way they could replace Poole is by sign-and-trade with Jonathan Kuminga, with whom the Warriors are currently in a holding pattern with his restricted free agency. It's unclear how the Kuminga situation will solve itself.

As it turns out, a Kuminga sign-and-trade for a Poole replacement could be in the cards. ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel reported that the Warriors and Kuminga have hoped the Chicago Bulls would show interest in him, potentially leading to a deal that would send a potential Poole replacement back to Golden State: Ayo Dosunmu.

"Kuminga and the Warriors alike have held out hope this offseason that the Bulls would be a suitor in a potential sign-and-trade scenario," Siegel wrote. "In any scenario involving Chicago, Dosunmu would be the headline player going to Golden State.

"Between his two-way abilities and secondary playmaking skills, Dosunmu would fit in as a key guard in Steve Kerr's rotations that the Warriors haven't had since trading away Jordan Poole."

Dosunmu hasn't averaged as many as Poole has in a season, but he's coming off a season where he averaged 12.3 points while shooting 49.2% from the field. His three-year, $21 million contract will expire next season.
