A reliever heads from San Fran to New York
The San Francisco Giants have traded reliever Tyler Rogers to the New York Mets on Wednesday.
The Giants were thought to be buyers when they acquired Rafael Devers from Boston earlier this summer, but now in the middle of a five game losing streak, they appear to be trading pieces.
San Francisco starts Wednesday at .500, with a 54-54 record on the season, and five games out of a postseason spot.
The San Francisco Giants, who were in buy mode just a few weeks ago, have pivoted with their collapse and are now selling.

They start by dealing right-handed reliever Tyler Rogers to the New York Mets, as @Ken_Rosenthal reported.
Rogers is a 34-year-old right-hander who has 26 career wins. He made his MLB debut with the Giants back in 2019. This season, he has made 53 appearances, thrown 50 innings, and allowed 39 hits. He has allowed just 10 earned runs, while striking out 38 and walking four. He has 20 holds on the season as well.
His last appearance was not great, as he went one inning on July 29 against Pittsburgh, and allowed four hits and two runs in a 3-1 loss to the Pirates.

In exchange, the Mets have sent right-handed pitcher Blake Tidwell, outfielder Drew Gilbert, and reliever Jose Butto to the Giants. Tidwell was the 10th-ranked prospect for New York, while Gilbert was 12th.
