The 49ers quarterback comes from a family full of athletes.
49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has already accomplished much in his career, as he went from Mr. Irrelevant to NFC-champion starting quarterback in just three years.
The star quarterback comes from a family of athletes, beginning with his father and including both of his siblings and his wife. However, Purdy himself is the most successful athlete in his family, which isn't a surprise considering how much he's accomplished with San Francisco to begin his career.
However, Purdy's success wouldn't have happened had it not been for his family. Get to know the Purdys.

Jenna Brandt is from Sumner, Iowa, grew up with three siblings and was born the same year as Brock: 1999. She is also an athlete, as she was a star high school volleyball player and played the sport in college for two different programs.
Purdy met Jenna when they were both freshmen students at Iowa State, as he played quarterback for the football team while she played for the volleyball team. In 2021, Brandt transferred from Iowa State to Northern Iowa to continue her volleyball career at a new school.
The couple got engaged in 2023 after Purdy's rookie season with the 49ers and then got married a year later.

Brock Purdy dad: Shawn Purdy
Shawn Purdy was a baseball player earlier in his life, mainly bouncing around the minor leagues. In college he played for Valencia Community College, Indian State River College and the University of Miami, was drafted by the Pirates and also played in the Royals', Angels' and Athletics' systems.
Overall, Shawn spent eight years in the minor leagues, starting 70 games and collecting 40 saves with a 3.91 ERA. Shawn's experience as a pitcher was helpful when Purdy suffered an partially torn UCL at the end of his rookie season, an injury that Shawn also had.
"Being able to ask him and go to him for advice with, 'Hey man, what do I got to do?" Brock Purdy said, via NBC Sports Bay Area. "And the biggest thing he would say is, 'You got to have patience. There's a process to this. You can't overnight, all of the sudden heal up.'"

Brock Purdy mom: Carrie Purdy
Carrie Purdy is originally from California but followed her husband around during his minor league baseball career. Unlike her husband and children, Carrie Purdy was not an athlete, but Brock still says he gets a lot of his personality from her.
"My mom, she’s always going to keep everyone on our toes," Purdy told The Athletic. "She brings the energy to the family, so I think I definitely get that kind of trait from her."

Brock Purdy brother: Preston 'Chubba' Purdy
Purdy's younger brother, Preston, is also a quarterback, as he has played for Florida State, Nebraska and Nevada in his career. He has primarily served as a backup, as he has just seven touchdowns to eight interceptions since his first college season in 2020.
As expected with two football-playing brothers, Brock and Chubba are very competitive with each other.
"Ever since we were little, competition has been everything," Chubba said, via azcentral.com. "We just always want to win and we don't like losing."
However, their personalities do have differences, as described the high school head coach that worked with each.
"Brock was very serious the second he stepped on the field," Perry High School head coach Preston Jones said. "Chubba is very light. He's a jokester. He's all smiles. But as soon as that ball is snapped, he is 100 percent a competitor. Whether it's ping pong, football, wrestling, you name it, no rule, let's just go. They'll do whatever they can to win."

Where is Brock Purdy from?
Purdy was born and raised in Arizona, as he attended Perry High School in Gilbert. The Purdys ended up in Arizona since Shawn spent many spring trainings there, and they stayed as a compromise between Shawn, who is originally from Florida, and Carrie, who is from California.
"He wasn't going to California, and I wasn't going to Florida. This was our compromise," Carrie told The Athletic in 2019. "And we love it."
