Rosario can move around the diamond.
The New York Yankees picked up the versatile Amed Rosario on Saturday night in a trade from the Washington Nationals.
That's the key word, versatile.
The Yankees plan to use Rosario all around the diamond.
Manager Aaron Boone told reporters he views Rosario as an option at second base, third base and the corner outfield spots. He'd only slot him at shortstop "in a pinch."
Rosario came through the minor leagues as a shortstop, but he's gotten more time at all those other spots of late.

The Yankees will most likely use Rosario in their lineup most frequently against lefties. He's batting .299 against southpaws this season, and it's a skill he's always had as an MLB player.
Rosario should, then, pair nicely with third baseman Ryan McMahon and second baseman Jazz Chisholm, who are both lefty hitters. When they need an off day, the Yanks can try to line it up against a left-hander to get Rosario in the lineup with a good matchup for him.
He's definitely a good addition to have as the Yankees try and chase down the AL East lead.
