Mariners aren't done, 'aggressively' going after huge trade for All Star

Seattle wants more.

The Seattle Mariners want more.

They already traded for Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Josh Naylor.

What's next? His teammate.

The Mariners want Eugenio Suarez, too.

"The Seattle Mariners, even after acquiring first baseman Josh Naylor from the Arizona Diamondbacks, are aggressively pursuing Naylor’s former teammate, All-Star third baseman Eugenio Suárez," writes USA Today's Bob Nightengale.

Suarez has 36 home runs this season and certainly looks likely to be traded after the DBacks have already sent out Naylor and Randal Grichuk.

Seattle needs the bat at third base, where Ben Williamson has had a solid glove but no thump.

Suarez is also familiar with the Mariners, having played in Seattle in 2022 and 2023.

Other teams want Suarez, but the Yankees are out of the race at least after acquiring Ryan McMahon.

Seattle has more top-100 prospects than any team in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline. This is their trade to lose.
