Will Wagner is heading to Cooperstown.
To be clear, the Toronto Blue Jays infielder will be spectating at Hall of Fame induction weekend.
That's because his dad is Billy Wagner, the fireballing relief pitcher getting his plaque this weekend in the quaint New York setting.
The Blue Jays have brought Alan Roden to join them in Wagner's temporary place.
The induction ceremony isn't until Sunday at 1:30 p.m., so Wagner seems set to miss two games for Toronto.
It's a great reason, of course.

The Blue Jays are so red-hot that one absence shouldn't hurt them too much. Wagner has been a utility infielder this season, and he's batting .243 for the campaign, although he like the rest of the lineup has been much better of late.
Toronto has the best record in baseball, and that doesn't happen without everyone coming through in key spots.
Wagner will return to that party after first getting to experience his father getting baseball's greatest honor.
