In a recent report, The Independent mentioned that Chelsea are keeping tabs on the situation of Newcastle United star Alexander Isak this summer. It has been claimed that the Blues are ready to compete with Liverpool in the race to land the Swedish striker this off-season.
Isak’s Impressive Record At Tyneside Last Season
Isak was one of the top performers in the Premier League last season when he put in a handful of productive displays for the Magpies in the final third. The Sweden international found the back of the net 27 times and earned six assists in 42 matches for Newcastle United in the previous campaign across various competitions.
The 25-year-old was a reliable performer up top and did well to average 3.10 shots per 90 minutes in Premier League football. He kept 43.2% of his attempts on target. Isak even distributed possession accurately in the opponent’s half based on his pass completion rate of 75.3% in top-flight football (stats via fbref.com).
His current deal at the Tyneside club will expire in the summer of 2028 which could make it tough for the Blues to snap him up on the cheap in this summer transfer window.

Will Isak Be A Dream Signing For Chelsea?
Isak excels at creating some space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third and is a powerful runner with the ball up top.
The Sweden international has proven his worth as a deadly finisher in front of the opponent’s goal. He has already proven his worth in the Premier League and is well-equipped to make an immediate impact at Chelsea if they can devise a way to bring him on board before the end of this transfer window.
Isak would add plenty of goals to Enzo Maresca’s attack. He has what it takes to nail down a regular starting place at the West London club next season.
At 25, Isak has his best years ahead of him which makes him a dream signing for the Blues to pursue in this transfer period. Furthermore, he is good enough to help Chelsea challenge for the Premier League title in the coming years.
