Steelers open as home underdogs to Texans in wild card round

The Steelers are underdogs in the playoffs.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are AFC North champions, and they will host the first full-capacity playoff game at Acrisure Stadium in eight years next Monday night when they host the Houston Texans. The Texans are winners of their last nine games entering the playoffs, and their defense is arguably the best in the NFL. Because of that, they are road favorites against the Steelers.

Per FanDuel Sportsbook, the Texans are 3.5-point favorites over the Steelers in the wild card round. This marks the third of three games that open with 3.5-point spreads. The Philadelphia Eagles are 3.5-point favorites over the San Francisco 49ers, and the New England Patriots are favored by 3.5 over the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Steelers are 0-1 against C.J. Stroud, that game coming back in 2023 when Houston defeated Pittsburgh 30-6. They will get DK Metcalf back next week, which will be a big boost to their offense going against a tremendous Texans defense.

The Steelers are 2-2 when they enter the week as home underdogs.
