A Manchester United legend says that Chelsea should have hired a different manager to the one they have hired in Liam Rosenior.

The former Strasbourg boss was confirmed as the new head coach of Chelsea yesterday after he did a farewell press conference back in France yesterday morning.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea in for Ivory Coast international winger!

And then last night, he was pictured at Chelsea’s training ground in Cobham for the first time in his first official shots as Chelsea head coach.

Rosenior has certainly not got Chelsea fans excited, but most of them are going to give him every chance to prove himself and will back him from the off and truly hope he succeeds. It’s just that point that Chelsea are hiring another inexperienced manager who has never coached in the Premier League, or at the very top.

Rosenior for me seems like a really great guy and very intelligent, I think there are a lot of positive signs around him as a coach, but only time will tell.

Would Fabregas have been a better bet?

Axel Disasi meets Cesc Fabregas.

Former United midfielder Paul Scholes believes Chelsea should have hired Cesc Fabregas from Como instead of Rosenior.

Asked whether Fabregas could be a candidate for the Manchester United following Ruben Amorim’s sacking, Scholes said on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast: ‘Not for United.

‘But do you know what? I actually like what he’s doing and think he might have been a better choice for Chelsea than Liam Rosenior.

‘But he’s not right for Manchester United.’

Fabregas also not ready

I think Fabregas is doing good things at Como and needs to keep developing there for now. This will only help him and the next club that he goes to.

One day, sure, I’d love to see him manage Chelsea.
