FC Bayern does not want to take any chance with Jamal Musiala.
According to a report from Sport Bild journalist Tobi Altschäffl (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich is going to do everything it can to ensure that Jamal Musiala is not rushed back into action and that the young star has every opportunity to get fully back to health before he is thrust back into his normal role:
Jamal Musiala will slowly be eased back onto the pitch in order to avoid any possible setbacks. The plan is to be involved in full training in January – and in the best case scenario, get short appearances by the end of the month. The minutes, intensity and workload will be gradually increased. Musiala wants to be at his best when the Champions League knockouts start, and wants to be a decisive factor again by then.
The club undoubtedly wants to do what is best for the long-term health of Musiala, but the emergence of Lennart Karl and the resurgence of Serge Gnabry buy this kind of time for Musiala to take his time. In addition, Bayern Munich’s incredible first half showing allows thew club — and Musiala — to feel less pressure about a return because of the rampant success.
