Cincinnati has entered the chat.
The Cincinnati Reds have entered the chat.
Specifically, the Eugenio Suarez trade chat.
With about a week until the MLB trade deadline, Suarez is the top name available. The Arizona Diamondbacks' slugging third baseman already has 36 homers this season, and a bunch of contenders want him.
The Athletic's C. Trent Rosecrans reports that the Reds have contacted Arizona to express their interest.
They join a list of interested teams including the Yankees, Cubs, Mariners and Tigers.
It'd be a reunion for Suarez in Cincinnati. They traded him in 2022 to Seattle.

Suarez was with the Reds from 2015 through 2021.
That included two seasons of 100-plus RBI and a 49-homer season in 2019.
Suarez blossomed in Cincinnati from a medium-hitting Detroit utility infielder into one of the most underrated sluggers in baseball.
The Reds would make quite the splash if they pulled off a deal for Suarez. They've got more work to do in the playoff race than some of the other interested teams.
But maybe that's exactly why they feel they should go after Suarez. He'd certainly have the potential to make a massive difference.
