The Los Angeles Dodgers, according to MLB insider Ken Rosenthal, are "certainly in the mix" for Athletics closer Mason Miller.

With less than two weeks until the MLB trade deadline, the Los Angeles Dodgers are being linked to more trade targets as trade talks heat up.
According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Dodgers are linked to one of the top players who could be on the market at this year's MLB trade deadline.
Rosenthal has the Dodgers linked to Athletics closer Mason Miller as a potential blockbuster trade deadline pickup. The Dodgers are looking to add a reliever, and Miller would be the top option if he were available.
"Which teams might tempt the A's? The Los Angeles Dodgers," Rosenthal writes, "With free agents Tanner Scott and Kirby Yates performing below expectations, almost certainly would be in the mix."
At 26 years old, Miller is earning just $760,000 this season. It's a super-cheap contract to pick up, and combined with him being under control through 2029, the cost to trade for him will be enormous.
But landing such an incredible arm would be more than worth it. According to Baseball Savant, Miller is one of the most electric relievers in the game, as he has the highest average fastball velocity at 101 MPH.
While he has a 4.04 ERA this season, his FIP of 2.87 is more than encouraging enough to believe he can turn things around ERA-wise once traded.
In 2024, when Miller was an All-Star, he had a 2.49 ERA in 55 appearances with 28 saves and 104 strikeouts in 65 innings pitched. Adding a young, cheap, dominant closer like Miller would be the dream for the Dodgers.
Of course, the cost in a trade would be immense, but bringing a talent like Miller to Los Angeles would be too tantalizing to pass on.
Miller is sure to draw plenty of interest if made available, and the Dodgers will "certainly" be among those trying to land the flame-throwing Athletics closer.
