Steven Kwan could be continuing his playing in Southern California.
The MLB trade deadline is now just one week away, and the trade rumors are at an all-time high.
And one of the names that is getting brought up a lot is Cleveland Guardians' All-Star outfielder Steven Kwan, a three-time Gold Glove Award winner that is an incredible contact hitter as well.
Kwan was ranked second behind Arizona's Eugenio Suarez in ESPN's "Top 50 trade Candidates" list, published by Jeff Passan and Kiley McDaniel.
And now another ESPN analyst, David Schoenfield, has put Kwan's name in the mix with a team that already has an elite outfield, the reigning world champion Los Angeles Dodgers.
Schoenfield reasons that Michael Conforto hasn't been the guy that LA needs since they acquired him, and that Mookie Betts moving in front of Shohei Ohtani in the lineup was not a good move on manager Dave Roberts' part and believes Kwan will be the solution to both issues.
"Michael Conforto just hasn't worked out. The Dodgers have given him 300 plate appearances and he's hitting under .200, plus he's not a good left fielder," Schoenfield wrote. They just moved Mookie Betts there in front of Shohei Ohtani, but Betts just hasn't been an offensive force in 2025 and shouldn't be hitting at the top of a lineup right now. Kwan would fix both issues and give them a nice OBP guy in front of Ohtani while providing a major defensive upgrade."
Sticking Kwan in left field and keeping Teoscar Hernandez and Andy Pages in center and right will give the Dodgers an outfield that would instill more fear into opponents than they already do with three MVPs and future Hall of Famers leading off their lineup.
Kwan is currently batting .285 with six home runs and 33 runs batted in on the 2025 season.
