New tackle has history with Pete Carroll
The Las Vegas Raiders signed offensive tackle Stone Forsythe recently. Let’s take a closer look at Forsythe:
Size:
6-8, 307 pounds.
NFL experience:|
Forsythe is entering his fifth NFL season. He spent his first four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. He signed with the New York Giants as a free agent and was released. The Raiders signed him as a free agent, replacing tackle Thayer Munford. Forsythe has started NFL 14 games, with eight coming in 2023.
College:
Forsythe went to Florida. He was a sixth-round draft choice of the Seahawks in 2021.
Raiders ties:
He spent three seasons in Seattle with Raiders’ head coach Pete Carroll and some assistants.
How he will fit in with Raiders:
Forsythe, who turns 28 during the season, will be the Raiders’ swing tackle, replacing Munford. He is basically a career backup, but Carroll knows him and is comfortable with him. So, there is some trust there should Forsythe have to play.
