Readers Needed For Historical Blazers Draft Project

Become a dream Trail Blazers GM!

Attention Blazer’s Edge readers! We are looking for four participants to engineer a brief, but fun, site project early next week!

We are going to hold an All-Time, Historical draft of Portland Trail Blazers players. Our four participants will play General Manager, drafting teams of ten players each from the franchise’s history. The rest of the readership will then be asked to judge who fielded the winning team overall, plus which team had the best style points.

If you want to take one of the GM chairs for this project, email me at [email protected] and let me know. Here are the details:

—We will run the draft via a Google Spreadsheet

—The spreadsheet will open Sunday afternoon. We hope to have the project finished by Monday evening or Tuesday noon.

—All players from franchise history will be eligible to be drafted. Only their years in Portland will be considered.

—Draft order will be determined randomly and will proceed in snake fashion (1-2-3-4-4-3-2-1 and etc.)

—We’re looking for actual teams with synergy, focus, and some level of chemistry, so come with a little knowledge and the ability to judge playing styles and strengths at least. We’re not looking for a hodgepodge group of stars as much as real teams that would play well together.

—You will also need to write a little about WHY you made your choices and HOW you crafted your team. You’ll need to have some writing ability as well as basketball chops.

If you think you’ve got the stuff, email me and give me some idea of your background, availability, and enthusiasm. And watch next week for our draft to unfold!
