Sophomore midfielder Maddie Levy picked a good night for her breakout, scoring twice as Taylor White piled on a goal and two assists in a 3–0 shutout.
The WVU women’s soccer team bounced back Thursday night with a 3–0 win over Duquesne at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium, pulling even at 2–2 on the season.
Taylor White put the Mountaineers ahead in the 16th minute, lofting a shot over the keeper off a pass from Alexis Ré. White stayed involved the rest of the night, setting up both of Maddie Levy’s goals. Levy doubled the lead in the 24th minute with a finish inside the box, then struck again in the 53rd with a low shot to the right side. The goals were the first of her collegiate career and gave WVU all the cushion they needed.
White finished with a goal and two assists, while Bailey Herfurth made four saves in her first start of the season to earn the clean sheet. WVU outshot the Dukes 20–5 and forced keeper Ali Hughes into seven stops.
The Mountaineers return to the road Sunday, August 31, for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff at Dayton on ESPN+.
