Caitlin Clark's replacement makes personal announcement.
Indiana Fever Player Announces Personal News on Friday originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Indiana Fever have been playing without Caitlin Clark, who has struggled to stay on the court during her second season in the WNBA.
Indiana is preparing to play the Washington Mystics, and Clark will be sidelined along with teammates Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald.
While the loss of Clark has been huge, the season-ending injuries to Colson and McDonald wiped out the team's guard depth, and the Fever are 1-2 since they were lost. While McDonald recovers from a broken bone in her right foot, she has been finishing her graduate school classes.
"Just like that, your girl is officially done with grad school," McDonald posted.

McDonald was brought to the Indiana Fever in order to add depth in the backcourt. She emerged as Caitlin Clark's replacement as the starting point guard when the star was injured.
While McDonald joined the team on a short-term contract, she wound up starring in Stephanie White's rotations. In the starting lineup, McDonald mostly played alongside Sophie Cunningham, Kelsey Mitchell, Aliyah Boston and Natasha Howard.
McDonald averaged 9.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game with the Fever this season. Before her time with the Fever, McDonald spent three seasons with the Atlanta Dream and one season with the Los Angeles Sparks.
The Fever host the Mystics at 7:30 p.m. ET Friday on Ion.
