Sophie Cunningham is clever with this Caitlin Clark move...
Sophie Cunningham Finds Subtle Way to Put Caitlin Clark Front and Center originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Sophie Cunningham has made a name for herself in her first season with the Indiana Fever. It began earlier this season when she stepped in to defend Caitlin Clark after the WNBA star was poked in the eye by Jacy Sheldon — now with the Washington Mystics — and shoved to the ground by Connecticut Sun guard Marina Mabrey.
Since then, Cunningham has taken advantage of all the attention by starting a podcast called "Show Me Something" and casually asking for a brand deal on social media in a photo poolside with Fever teammate Lexie Hull.
On Friday, Cunningham took to social media again to react to a post from a fan. The fan shared two photos: one of Cunningham standing and holding some small goats, and another of her standing over Clark with her arm resting on Clark’s shoulder.
"These are the same picture," the fan wrote while essentially calling Clark the GOAT (Greatest of All Time).
Cunningham took the opportunity to not only promote Clark as the GOAT but also joke that Clark smells like the animal, too.
"they smell the same too," Cunningham replied.

Cunningham and Clark's Friendship
Cunningham and Clark's friendship has taken off since becoming teammates in the offseason. She spent the first six seasons of her WNBA career with the Phoenix Mercury before they traded her to the Fever on Jan. 31.
Both growing up in the Midwest, they've spent lots of time together and are even part of a trio with Hull called "Tres Leches."
