Angel Reese has been missing from the Chicago Sky’s active roster for the past six games.

The WNBA star has been sidelined for the Sky, dealing with a back injury during her second season in the league.

Reese is widely considered Chicago’s best player, alongside several other contributors like Ariel Atkins and Kamilla Cardoso.

While Reese has been sidelined, the Sky have struggled to find consistency on either end of the floor. She has proven to be one of the most versatile forwards in the WNBA, so her loss has been big for head coach Tyler Marsh.

The Sky coach spoke on her latest development ahead of a matchup against the Golden State Valkyries.

"She’s been progressing each day," Marsh said. "Doing more and more on-the-court stuff. I don’t think we’re too far away but she’s progressing pretty well. She has not practiced with us yet. She’s present, she’s doing workouts and stuff like that."

Angel Reese has been absent from the team for their previous two matchups.

While she's recovering from her back injury, Reese did not travel with the Chicago Sky for their matchups against the Indiana Fever and the Connecticut Sun. The last time she saw action for the Sky was July 29 during a loss to the Washington Mystics.

Marsh mentioned that she's progressing, but has yet to join the Sky for active practice, leaving the timetable for her return to the court in the air.

Throughout her second season in the WNBA, Angel Reese has posted 14.2 points, 12.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game for the Chicago Sky.
