The 2025 preseason AP All-American team is out and Georgia is represented by four players -- two specialists and two defensive players.
The Associated Press has released it’s preseason All-American teams and Georgia has four representatives between the first and second teams combined. Only one Bulldog made the first team with three more making the second team. UGA had no representation on either offensive team.
Senior punter Brett Thorson, who is returning from a torn ACL sustained in the SEC Championship game last December, was the only Georgia player on the first team. He was also named first-team All-SEC by league media.
Thorson has handled punting duties for Georgia the past three seasons. He is coming off his best year yet where he averaged over 47 yards per boot. He was a Ray Guy Award finalist in 2024 and the AP voted him as a second-team All-American and All-SEC performer.
Junior place-kicker Peyton Woodring was named to the second team. He’s coming off a season where made 91.3 percent of his field goal opportunities. The Louisiana native went 21 of 23 on the year. His second field goal of the season was his career long, a 55-yard make in Georgia’s season-opening win over Clemson. At season’s end, Woodring was voted first-team All-SEC as a kickoff specialist.
Georgia’s other two representatives are on the defensive side of the ball. Fourth-year junior defensive lineman Christen Miller was voted in. He’s entering his third season as a major contributor and is projected as a full-time starter for the second straight season. He missed two games late in the 2024 season but finished the year with 3.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
Sophomore safety KJ Bolden rounds out the list for the Bulldogs. He played in all 14 games as a true freshman with two starts. Bolden was named Freshman All-American by On3 and the FWAA in addition to being a finalist for the Shawn Alexander Freshman of the Year Award at season’s end. The Buford High School product, who flipped from Florida State to Georgia on National Signing Day in the 2024 class, piled up 59 total tackles, two tackles for loss, and a sack in his first season.
