A trio of Indiana football players were named to preseason AP All-Americans as the first and second teams were announced on Monday afternoon.

Wide receiver Elijah Sarratt, linebacker Aiden Fisher and cornerback D’Angelo Ponds were all named to the AP Second-Team.

One notable omission is defensive lineman Mikail Kamara.

Last season, Indiana finished with three All-Americans; Kamara, Fisher and Ponds. Kamara was the only Hoosier on the postseason AP All-American teams, however.

Sarratt was a Third-Team All-Big Ten selection by the coaches and media, and a Second-Team All-Big Ten performer by the AP. On the season, he finished with 53 receptions for 957 yards and eight touchdowns. He had four 100+ yard games, all over 125 yards.

He finished the season graded as the No. 4 receiver in the Big Ten and No. 13 among Power 4 wideouts (80.8), per Pro Football Focus.

Fisher returns to Indiana after totaling 118 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. He was a First-Team All-American by Football Writers Association of American and Phil Steele and Second-Team All-American by Sporting News and Sports Illustrated. He was also a First-Team All-Big Ten selection by coaches, media and the AP.

Ponds continued his stellar career in 2024 as he earned Second-Team All-America honors from The Athletic, CBS Sports, ESPN, Football Writers Association of American, Phil Steele and USA Today. He was also First-Team All-Big Ten by coaches, media and the AP.

Ponds posted 55 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions and nine pass breakups. He has 22 pass breakups in his two seasons.

All three preseason All-American selections came from James Madison with Curt Cignetti ahead of the 2024 season.

Indiana is coming off of an 11-2 season and College Football Playoff appearance.

Indiana begins its 2025 season on August 30 against Old Dominion.
