Stephanie White and the Indiana Fever found themselves with a point guard problem as Caitlin Clark (groin), Aari McDonald (foot) and Sydney Colson (knee) are all dealing with injuries.

White and the Fever have addressed the injuries by bringing in two new point guards on hardship contracts.

The first was Odyssey Sims, who spent time with the Los Angeles Sparks during the 2025 WNBA season. And on Thursday, Indiana announced it has also signed Kyra Lambert, who has spent her entire professional career playing overseas in Europe.

On Thursday, White spoke during the Fever's media availability. When asked if Lambert had been on her radar, White quickly responded, "No."

Then, the 2023 WNBA Coach of the Year was asked what makes Lambert the right fit for this Indiana team.

"Well, I think number one, her preparation," White said. " You know, from the initial phone call that Amber (Cox) and Kelly (Krauskopf) had to, you know, our conversations, she's been watching the team. She's studying what we're doing. Studying how we've played opponents on both ends, what we've done to attack, what we've done on the defensive end."

White also compared Lambert to McDonald, who is out for the rest of the season.

"You know, she reminds me a little bit of Aari when she came in, and really already kind of had some of the playbook down," White added. "You know, her ability to get downhill. She's got some speed and quickness as well. So all of those things are what we need and what we miss without having Aari and Syd on the floor."

Lambert played her college career (2015-21) with the Duke Blue Devils and Texas Longhorns, where she was forced to miss two seasons due to two separate ACL tears. She most recently played for Olympiacos in Greece, averaging 15.4 points and 6.3 assists on her way to winning the Eurocup's Guard of the Year.

Lambert could get her first WNBA action on Friday, when the Fever host the Washington Mystics at 7:30 p.m. ET.
