Undrafted players can't miss their opportunities.

Detroit Lions undrafted rookie wide receiver Jackson Meeks is doing everything he can to seize his chance.

In the Lions' preseason game a week ago, he had three catches for 78 yards and a touchdown.

On Saturday, he did even better, hauling in seven passes for 93 yards and another TD.

His touchdown was a fourth-down snag from Kyle Allen.

Meeks wasn't expected to be in the position to potentially be a roster spot stealer.

The Lions didn't even sign him as an UDFA right after the draft. He needed rookie minicamp to prove himself first before signing in the second week of May.

Meeks was a talented player at SU who had a strong final season with Kyle McCord slinging it all over the field. But this wasn't a given by any means.

The reality is Meeks might still be a best bet to end up on the practice squad. But at some point, production can't be ignored.

It'll be interesting to see if Detroit incorporates Meeks higher up the depth chart in the next week or two to gauge his readiness to get snaps with QB Jared Goff.

With a name like Meeks, fighting for a roster spot requires one thing: Don't go quietly.

At this point, Jackson Meeks has been anything but meek.
