The Los Angeles Lakers have put all their eggs in the Luka Doncic basket. After trading for one of the top five players in the league, they are now set to compete for the next decade. That all hinges on whether Luka Doncic can remain healthy.

This Summer, Luka has been on a press tour showing everyone just how healthy (and skinny) he is. He has reportedly lost over 30 pounds and is looking like he is in the best shape of his career.

Aesthetics aren’t everything, however. Luka still needs to be able to produce on the court and avoid injury. A recent Luka Doncic injury in a EuroBasket exhibition game has some Lakers fans worried.

After a collision with his teammate in the Slovenia vs Latvia game, Luka grabbed his knee in pain and left the game limping to the locker room. All basketball fans subsequently held their breath until Luka later rejoined his team on the bench, seemingly ok.

Whether this Luka injury is nothing or a real problem, it shows just how fragile every NBA season is. One offseason injury to your best player and you could be out of contention before the season even begins.

Luka Doncic's injury is likely not going to be a major one. At worst, you can expect him to miss EuroBasket as a precautionary measure. At least that’s what Lakers fans should be hoping for. If Luka decides to play for Slovenia while not being 100% healthy, he could risk getting even more injured.

Hopefully, this is just a scare and Luka can enter Lakers training camp fully healthy and ready for his revenge season.
