Conor McGregor addressed growing rumors about his removal from the UFC roster with a tweet and delete.
Conor McGregor directly addressed recent online rumors about his removal from the UFC roster, and confirmed his first anti-doping test was a success.
McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) recently announced his intentions to return for another fight under the UFC banner, and with that comes re-entry into the UFC's anti-doping testing pool. "The Notorious" recently shared a video on social media showing off a bandage on his shoulder that he claimed was from his first test.
Thursday, the once-trusted algorithm-based X account UFC Roster Tracker alerted that McGregor was removed from the UFC's roster. Naturally, this led to many jumping to conclusions online that McGregor changed his mind on returning to action. Some speculated he failed his first drug test. McGregor put those rumors to bed in a since-deleted post on X.
"First test fully clean. Prick," McGregor wrote in reply.
McGregor included a screenshot of a text message conversation with an unnamed person.
"Piro called yesterday. 1st clean. Nice! Will be sending official notice next week," the person wrote to McGregor.
"100% natural animal," McGregor replied with a photo of himself shopping.
McGregor has not fought since he broke his leg in a trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier over four years ago. He recently stated interest in competing at the proposed UFC White House event on July 4, 2026.
