Alphonce Omija is striving to stay focused on his journey with the Harambee Stars at CHAN 2024, despite swirling rumors about his future at Gor Mahia.

The Kenyan international defender is being pursued by Club Africain. The Beb Jedid side is looking to sign him as a potential replacement for Ali Youssef, should he depart.

Given his outstanding performances at the CHAN, it's no surprise that the Kenyan international is being linked with a move abroad during this summer transfer window.

Asked about Club Africain's interest, the 22-year-old centre-back revealed he had been contacted by an intermediary who relayed the Tunisian club's interest. "I was contacted by someone in Tunisia who informed me that certain clubs are interested, but that's as far as it went," he said.

"No in-depth discussions have taken place. To be honest, nothing concrete has been agreed upon yet. For now, it's all just speculation and not an official offer," added Omija, who remains focused on CHAN 2024.

"At the moment, CHAN is my main priority—for me, the team, and the country. We want to build on our strong performances and go as far as we can in the tournament. Anything can happen, so we must keep giving our best in every match. We'll see how far our teamwork can take us," he further explained.

"Once CHAN is over, I'll return to my club and then I can consider my plans for next season," he concluded.
