Sontje Hansen, a former top scorer at the Under-17 World Cup, joins Middlesbrough on a four-year contract from Eredivisie side NEC Nijmegen.
Middlesbrough have signed forward Sontje Hansen on a four-year contract from Dutch club NEC Nijmegen.
Hansen has scored 12 goals in 64 games for the Eredivisie side after starting off in the Ajax academy.
The 23-year-old has represented the Netherlands in all age-group levels up to under-21 and he was the leading scorer at the 2019 Under-17 World Cup.
Hansen is the fourth signing of the summer for Boro, to go along with defenders Alfie Jones and Callum Brittain and midfielder Abdoulaye Kante.
Rob Edwards' side won their opening Championship game of the season against Swansea City, but were thrashed 4-0 by League One Doncaster Rovers in the Carabao Cup.
